However, participants will be free to make use of their time as they wish, as long as it accords with the spirit of self-enquiry and deepening into practice and tranquility.

Ram Chatlani will be available for interviews and tuition and questions on practice. For yogis who have an established practice, this will provide an opportunity to receive input and guidance to take individual work to a another level.

The space and the opportunity will offer rest, high quality nourishment, walks in unpolluted forests, silence or gentle speech.

Undertaking your own self-led retreat is an important step on the path to freedom. To have the confidence to make good use of available space is an essential foundation for those who live busy lives. It is also an important skill to have when deepening into spiritual practice, when trying to break through the barriers that keep us tied to our habit patterns.

Undertaking your own self-led retreat is an important step on the path to freedom.

People from other disciplines and practices, as well as those who have worked with Ram before, will derive benefit. Ram has many years of experience in a wide variety of Buddhist, including Zen, meditation traditions. He has practised and taught Wu and Yang style tai chi for over 15 years, as well as other Taoist internal arts, including ba gua and some highly specialised chi gung and nei gung. He has over 30 years experience of yoga and pranayama and over 10 years of study, practice and teaching in the Toltec tradition. All this makes up a very broad range of experience.

Thus, yogis undertaking a personal retreat can feel that support is on hand in addition to the support that will be provided by the natural environment and the centre facilities at Tourné.

Yogis will be free to come for a minimum of three days or may stay for the whole duration. The cost will be £50 per day and will include all food, accommodation and tuition if required.

Participants will be asked what the basis of their retreat will be so that practice space can be allocated and to ensure the suitability of a personal proposed programme. Those who are unsure are invited to make use of Ram’s offer to collaborate with them in advance to prepare a programme. Others who are willing to meet the challenge equipped as they are will need little or no other preparation except the journey.
