Ram Chatlani
R
am Chatlani has studied mysticism, meditation and healing movement arts since a very young age. The yoga asana and pranyama practice of his great grandfather, Tejbahn, a pearl fisher from northern India, provided Ram with an ancestral foundation for his own practice: practical application in daily life delivers harmony. Inner and outer practice serve and support each other.
Ram Chatlani's Experience

Among his early teachers were Dadi Janki, the Brahma Kumari. He has encountered many formative teachers from numerous traditions during which time his practice of yoga asana and pranyama has developed. He began practice of Zazen in 1981 and by the late 1980’s had synthesised his Indian based practices with Gurdjieff's work, leading to the formation of his first fourth way group in 1989. During this time he sudied extensively the Sufi path with Harith and students of Idries and Omar Alih Shah.
There is beauty, magic and
discipline in the work with
Ram and it holds the
possibility of letting go
of self-delusions.
In the period 1978-1993 he worked with champion martial artists D. Michael [judo, junior british champion 1974] and N.G. Charalambous [Master of jiu jitsu, European kick boxing champion, world stick fighting champion].
In 1992 he met and worked for 12 years with Master B.K. Frantzis and became certified by him to teach nei gung aspects of the Taoist Water Method. Ram has a commanding repertoire of Taoist internal energy arts and deep practical understanding of Wu and Yang style Tai Chi, countless chi gung and meditation sets from many lineages and is an inspiring ba gua practitioner and teacher.
During the same period as working in Europe and America with BKF, Ram met with the Toltec warriors Victor Sanchez, Manolo Cetina and Armando Cruz with whom he worked extensively for a period of 5 years, spending time in the high altitude deserts of Mexico, undertaking intensive field work in the Toltec tradition. He also met with and worked on several occassions with Broken Eagle Feather and Merrylin Tunneshende, both of whom were students of Carlos Castaneda’s don Juan Matus.
Ram Chatlani is a poet, a mystic, a sage and a warrior of impeccable intent. He has a beautiful vision and a beautiful practice which really does produce miracles. Having worked with many great teachers from many different countries, I can tell you that Ram is among the greatest.
Ram then met Burgs who had himself recently returned from a long period of study in the Far East. During the period 1998 to the present day, Ram has worked intensely, both publicly and privately with Burgs whose attainment and insight is unquestionably higher and deeper than any other teacher Ram has met.
Recognising these qualities, Ram was the first to publicly organise meditation retreats on behalf of Burgs. Burgs has been and continues to be a most influential teacher and friend on levels that deliver equally the most profound and truthful insight as well as the deepest healing. Through Burgs's generous teaching, this is made available to all who are willing to enter into the process of letting go.
From Burgs, Ram has learnt what cannot be communicated by words and rarely even attained by practice. Burg’s transmissions have penetrated all aspects of Ram’s teachings giving them a directness and quality that is quite unique, penetrating, illuminating and perhaps above all, settling. His work is directed at just this: to settle us into a practice that will make us happy, well balanced and able beings in all fields of endeavour and activity.
Ram continues to maintain contact with Burgs while integrating his meditation practices into his own teaching methods, offering substantial insight and practical benefits from a command of yogic, taoist and buddhist traditions.
The colour and the character of the teachings that Ram makes available reflect his own diverse cultural background, a blend of Indian sindhi and Armenian Greek from Cairo.
The prominent flavour delivered in these teachings in whichever discipline, is that of Absolute and the search for what we already have. Live the cosmic joke.
